GUARDIAN OF TIMELESS CRAFTSMANSHIP

Craftsmanship as heritage. Since 1948, Longchamp’s workshops have upheld a unique know-how. Its artisans combine rigor and innovation to create pieces designed to last.

CREATING AN OPTIMISTIC FUTURE FOR THE PLANET

Innovating to better preserve the environment. Reducing carbon footprint, using more certified materials, promoting circularity: every action counts in shaping a more sustainable future.

THE ART OF LEATHERCRAFT

A French leather goods maker since 1948, Longchamp upholds a unique craftsmanship, resulting from the excellence of its teams in the workshops and rigorous manufacturing processes, recognized by the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (EPV) label. Each creation is born from a precise gesture, inherited and perfected over generations. From leather artisans to suppliers and partners around the world, every step in Longchamp's value chain is driven by the commitment to create products where the "Made by Longchamp" craftsmanship is a guarantee of quality and durability. The House is committed to preserving this exceptional craft and reducing the environmental impact of its products through more sustainable and responsible design choices and material selections, ensuring excellence today and tomorrow.

PROMOTING ECO-DESIGN

Longchamp embraces a responsible and sustainable approach by optimizing material use and minimizing its environmental footprint. Through Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), the Maison evaluates the environmental impact of its products—from raw material extraction to end-of-life. It also prioritizes certified materials, including GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) for cotton and silk, and Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified leather, ensuring transparency, responsibility, and reduced environmental impact.

IMPROVING SUPPLY CHAIN TRANSPARENCY

Longchamp is strengthening its commitment to transparency and responsible practices across its entire supply chain. With the “Unfold” programme, launched in 2023, the Maison provides access to clear and concrete information on the journey a product has taken, from the origin of its raw materials to its manufacturing.  Each item comes with a QR code on the label, via which customers can access – in just a few seconds – a page dedicated to retracing the various steps of production. Here, they can learn about the origin of raw materials, production sites and the skills involved in a transparent and educational way. Rolled out gradually across a number of categories, Unfold now extends to small leather goods and belts, with plans to cover a growing number of items in 2026.  In addition, Longchamp evaluates its raw material suppliers and partners through Ecovadis to ensure compliance with CSR standards, while supporting them in a process of continuous improvement.

TAKING ACTION TODAY FOR TOMORROW

Longchamp’s relationship with the planet is a core pillar of its environmental responsibility. By conducting an annual carbon assessment and evaluating the necessary actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Longchamp aims to contribute to the energy transition and reduce its environmental impact. To further reduce its overall carbon footprint, the House has launched its Climate Strategy 2033.

MEASURING AND RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT CLIMATE ISSUES

Through its annual carbon footprint assessment launched in 2023, Longchamp has outlined its 2033 Climate Strategy, aiming to significantly reduce its carbon footprint over the next ten years. This roadmap is built on four core principles: 1- Reduce dependency on fossil fuels and their derivatives: By limiting air freight, prioritizing more responsible fuels, and reducing the environmental impact of synthetic fabrics. 2- Develop a more environmentally friendly leather supply chain: Through better traceability, reducing waste, and decreasing carbon intensity. 3- Design durable and repairable products: By improving their durability, facilitating repairs, and raising awareness among customers. 4- Set an example in environmental responsibility: By engaging teams, involving suppliers, and encouraging eco-friendly practices.

REDUCING PHYSICAL FOOTPRINT

Longchamp is committed to optimizing its energy use, transportation, and logistics to reduce its environmental impact. To limit its carbon footprint, the Maison is localizing production, reducing air freight, and prioritizing sea transport. By supporting the Neoline project, Longchamp will begin using wind-powered cargo ships starting in summer 2025 — a move aimed at cutting transport-related carbon emissions by 60%. For the first time, the water footprint of the tanning process will also be measured, with results expected in 2025. This initiative is a key step toward better water resource management and minimizing overall environmental impact.

PROMOTING CIRCULARITY

Longchamp designs durable products, combining quality and repairability. The brand has developed an evaluation tool that assigns a score to each product based on several criteria: material waste, use of certified materials, ease of maintenance, durability, reparability, and recyclability. This tool guides teams, from design to manufacturing, in creating more eco-responsible products. Longchamp is also strengthening its commitment to sustainability by developing new repair services, offering products a second life. Each product repaired represents a preserved resource and a reduced environmental footprint. In 2024, 75,000 products were restored, with 45,000 of those in Segré and 30,000 internationally. Longchamp is embedding its expertise in a circular economy approach, blending durability with responsibility.
